dr ashleigh saville bvsc hons 1

Partner & Head Veterinarian

Hailing from a small dairy farm on the Darling Downs in Qld, Ashleigh graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 before beginning her career in mixed practice in Wauchope.

She moved to Gloucester in early 2017 after falling in love with the laid back, small town community, its rolling green countryside and a local Dairy Farmer. Her career and involvement in the clinic has blossomed since then with Ashleigh buying into the business in 2021.

While she does have a vested interest in cattle medicine, she really enjoys the diversity and challenges of working in a true mixed practice and the relationships this has allowed her to develop in the community.

When she isn’t at work Ashleigh is kept busy with her two young children, a plethora of working dogs including the families Kelpie Barney, cat Milo and tribe of chickens. She really enjoys helping out on the dairy, playing netball, baking and gardening in her spare time

dr clare hodgson

Veterinarian

Born in the big smoke, Clare was lucky enough to escape to her family’s beef property every chance she got during her younger years, before heading west to Perth to get her Veterinary qualifications.

Although originally wanting to specialise in cattle, she thought she better consolidate her small animal knowledge and skills so started her veterinary career in the dairy country of Northern Victoria, where she realised that she loves the variety that mixed practice has to offer.

She has been lucky enough to travel all over Australia with her work - from preg testing Braham cattle in the Pilbara, to treating sea lions on Kangaroo Island, to bull testing in Goondiwindi - and even spent a year working in Wales.

She moved to Gloucester in 2019, and enjoys the diversity and challenges that come with rural practice, and equally (if not more) loves building relationships with all our lovely clients.

During her time with us, she has completed a Beef Production and Medicine course and a large animal rescue course.

When she’s not at work she spends her time with her partner, her three-legged Kelpie, Ed, and their other 5 dogs, and enjoys camping, road trips and netball.

She followed her passion for animals all the way to a Veterinary Science degree, graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2024. She is very excited to be part of the clinic and immerse herself in all that mixed practice has to offer.

When not at work, Claire enjoys going on adventures with her dog, Dash, hanging out with her herd of horses and helping out with everything cattle related at home.
